Anthropic has announced Claude Duet, a new AI agent aimed at professionals and small business owners. The company is releasing it as a “research preview,” available as a standalone app on iOS and Android as well as through Claude on the web. Duet is built around Claude Opus 5.5.
According to Anthropic’s description, the agent sends users a short morning brief covering the most important items across their connected apps. It continues to monitor those apps throughout the day and messages the user only when something requires attention. Users can also delegate tasks to the agent.
The Verge frames Duet as a competitor to Meta’s Muse and OpenAI’s Dots.
Why it matters
The launch marks Anthropic’s entry into a growing field of AI agents designed to monitor connected applications and surface relevant information with limited user intervention.
Who should care
Professionals and small business owners are the stated target audience, along with others tracking competition among AI agents from Anthropic, Meta, and OpenAI.
