Google may be broadening its “Call for Me” AI feature so it can send messages to friends and family, not only to businesses. According to Android Authority, an APK teardown surfaced a “Gemini Calling” introductory screen with sample prompts like “Call Mom and tell her I will be 15 minutes late” and “Call John and ask if he is coming for dinner.”
Based on those examples, the capability appears limited to short, text-message-like calls rather than fully automated conversations with relatives.
Why it matters
If released, the expansion could let Gemini deliver quick updates by voice to people who prefer phone calls or frequently miss text messages, bridging a gap between messaging and calling.
Who should care
Android and Gemini users interested in Google’s AI assistant features should note this remains unconfirmed and is based on a teardown rather than an official announcement.
