Ford is introducing an AI-powered assistant that answers questions about a customer’s Ford or Lincoln vehicle. The tool is rolling out first within the Ford and Lincoln mobile apps, where it functions as a chatbot capable of responding to questions about a vehicle’s capabilities and upcoming service needs. Examples cited include estimating the fuel needed for a road trip and determining whether a truck can tow a specific load, such as a motor boat.

Because the assistant is linked to the customer’s vehicle, it can access details specific to the make and model, including fuel levels, cargo capacity, and towing capabilities. Ford also plans to release a voice-powered version of the assistant.

Who should care

Ford and Lincoln owners using the companies’ mobile apps are the immediate audience, as the assistant is designed to surface vehicle-specific information on demand.
