According to a report from Lawfare cited by The Verge, xAI’s Grokipedia — an online encyclopedia of AI-generated articles that Elon Musk described as a “massive improvement” over Wikipedia — has apparently not been updated since April 24th. Lawfare stated that, as far as it could tell, no entry had changed in more than three months. Grokipedia launched as v0.1 in October 2025 with an initial batch of 885,000 articles, moved to v0.2 in November 2025, and now lists more than 6,000,000 total articles according to grokipedia.com/live. That same live page includes a “Recent changes to…” section displaying a message indicating no live edits were available.

Why it matters

The reported lack of updates raises questions about whether the project is being actively maintained, particularly for a product positioned as a competitor to a continuously edited reference source.

Who should care

Readers who rely on the encyclopedia for current information, along with those following xAI’s product efforts, may want to note the reported gap in updates.
