VentureBeat has appointed Rob Strechay as its first Lead Analyst and a founding analyst of VentureBeat Research. Strechay was until recently managing director and principal analyst at theCUBE Research and SiliconANGLE. His hiring reflects VentureBeat’s move toward deeper specialization aimed at technical decision-makers — directors, VPs, CIOs, and CTOs — evaluating, buying, and deploying enterprise AI.
Strechay brings nearly three decades of experience as a practitioner, product executive, and analyst, including executive roles at startups such as Zerto, work at Amazon Web Services building an analytics service, and a stint as a senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. His initial coverage will span cloud infrastructure, advanced data infrastructure, platform engineering and DevOps orchestration and observability, and the intersection of AI and enterprise security.
He has already contributed to VentureBeat’s research, publishing a May analysis of enterprise GPU utilization and reviewing the AI Infrastructure & Compute survey. His work complements VentureBeat’s monthly VB Pulse surveys, which track agentic orchestration, agent reliability and evals, agentic security and identity, AI infrastructure and compute, and context layers including retrieval-augmented generation.
Why it matters
As organizations move from generative AI experimentation to production, VentureBeat argues that decision-makers need deeper, data-driven analysis than news coverage alone provides.
Who should care
Enterprise technology leaders orchestrating multi-vendor AI environments, addressing security gaps in agentic pipelines, and managing infrastructure costs.
