Snap has announced “Specs Intelligence,” a new AI assistant designed to connect a user’s other digital accounts to assist with tasks such as work and tracking travel information. Snap describes it as an “anticipatory AI service” that helps users manage what needs attention on a given day while working toward longer-term goals. Users can also interact with it through chat. The Verge notes it appears similar to other AI assistants, including Meta’s Muse and Gemini’s Spark.
The tool is being introduced alongside Specs, Snap’s first consumer pair of augmented reality glasses. Specs Intelligence is available on iOS as of the announcement, and Snap is bringing it to Mac.
Why it matters
The launch extends Snap’s AI offering beyond its hardware, tying an assistant to both its new AR glasses and to iOS and Mac platforms.
Who should care
Snap users and those following AI assistant competition among major technology companies should take note of the release and its cross-platform availability.
