LinkedIn introduced a “Seems like AI slop” button on July 30th, letting users flag posts from the three-dots menu. In a Thursday post, chief product officer Hari Srinivasan said more than a million people have already used the feature. The launch followed a report, covered by 404 Media, in which AI detector Pangram flagged 41 percent of LinkedIn’s longform posts as fully AI generated. Alongside the button, LinkedIn rolled out updated classifiers to identify AI-generated posts and removed an unspecified feature.

Why it matters

The reported prevalence of AI-generated longform content and the volume of button clicks point to user concern about content authenticity on the platform. LinkedIn’s response combines user-driven flagging with automated detection.

Who should care

LinkedIn users, content creators, and marketers active on the platform may be affected by changes to how AI-generated posts are identified and surfaced.
