Microsoft has officially unveiled its redesigned Copilot “super app,” which it had teased the previous month. The app combines three AI capabilities — chat, coding, and agents — into a single interface. As part of the launch, Microsoft is renaming Scout, the AI personal assistant it introduced at Build earlier this year, to Autopilot.
The new Copilot app is organized around three tabs: Home, Code, and Autopilot. The Home tab brings together Copilot Chat and Cowork and serves as the default landing experience for Copilot users. Microsoft also plans to add a Today feature within Home that functions as a personalized dashboard for important items. According to the report, Microsoft views the app as potentially as influential as Office.
Why it matters
Consolidating chat, coding, and agent capabilities into one app reflects Microsoft’s effort to position Copilot as a central productivity surface, comparable in ambition to its Office suite.
Who should care
Current Copilot users, developers, and enterprises evaluating AI productivity tools should note the redesigned interface and the rebranding of Scout to Autopilot.
