Amazon has added the ability to manage SageMaker Spaces running on SageMaker HyperPod EKS clusters directly within SageMaker Studio. According to the announcement, data scientists and ML engineers can now create, configure, start, stop, and open these Spaces from the Studio interface, and launch JupyterLab and Code Editor environments in a few clicks without relying on command-line tools.
Why it matters
Bringing Space management into SageMaker Studio removes the need for command-line workflows to set up development environments on HyperPod EKS clusters, which can simplify everyday setup tasks for teams working in these environments.
Who should care
Data scientists and ML engineers who use SageMaker HyperPod EKS clusters and work in JupyterLab or Code Editor environments are the primary audience for this capability.
